Our friends Michel, Paulo, Patricia and Anita came over and helped us pick and press our red grapes for wine. We’ll make juice with our white grapes. Our first time making wine, it was good fun, and not as much hard work as we had imagined. Treading the grapes was great, but not for people who don’t like wasps - there were loads of them, but luckily they were so gorged on sweet grape juice they weren’t interested in stinging. I managed to make myself feel sick from drinking too much of the delicious juice and then treading grapes - walking round in circles and getting dizzy!
