stuck

The well people came today and got their truck completely stuck on our new track. Phoned the local tractor man but no reply. Ended up having to give them a lift home and they say they’ll come back tomorrow morning and sort out the truck. They asked if it was safe to leave the keys in the truck! Erm, yes, it’s not going anywhere is it?!

cozy

inside yurt

Well, the yurt is toasty warm - hoorah! wwoofer seems happy, says he was really hot last night with the burner going in the yurt, but cold this morning - it was frosty again. I’m typing this now sitting next to the open door and my hands are freezing! Going to go out and get on with some work now, it’s much warmer outside in the sunshine.
Andy & the wwoofer are picking olives again today. I’ll help them a bit, and do some work in my garden. Also need to chop firewood and do some cleaning up and preparation around the area the builders will be working on Monday.

cheap flights

I don’t want to encourage people to fly, but if you have to use air transport to get here, I suppose you may as well do it as cheaply as possible. Ryan Air www.ryanair.co.uk will be operating a new route Stansted-Porto from mid-January with fares starting at £3.99 plus taxes (means you’ll pay around 20 quid for a one-way flight).

Also check out Future Forests www.futureforests.com to see how you can minimise your contribution to global warming and carbon-neutralise your travel. I don’t really agree with this ‘conscience saving’ either, but well, it’s better than nothing.
