well, that’s my excuse for not blogging for ages! actually we have been really busy, doing so much i don’t know where to start in this long-overdue update.

we’ve had problems with a stray dog, who ate mummy duck, elvis the bantam cockerel, and one of our hens.

we’ve had lots of wwoofers, some campers, a couple of trips back to england.

right now it’s just me & derek the wwoofer and the weather is scorching so we’re not managing to get very much done. more wwoofers coming tomorrow though and hopefully we can make a start on strimming the land, which is getting urgent, we had a (luckily small and quickly extinguised by 5 fire engines) fire nearby a couple of nights ago. i woke up to the sound of all the dogs in the valley going mad barking and a roomfull of smoke.

big news is the new house is almost complete and we’re in our new bedroom, albeit not quite finished yet. so nice to finally have our own space. and fully insulated so a lovely cool retreat for siesta!

we now have an electric pump in the well so watering is much easier. the foundation is down for the new water tank and the pipes are laid, so water on tap is within sight!

pure portugal work has been non-stop and i’ve been busy with that most days.

we have a new kitten - cassidy - as in hopalong as she arrived with a broken leg.

well, that’ll have to be it for now as i am exhausted. will try not to leave it so long before the next update.
