feeling dirty
Apr 2nd 2007sophietechnopeasant
we have campers arriving tomorrow and, as always, this sets me into panic mode! our place feels dirty, unorganised, untidy. the basic facilities that we are used to living with seem far too basic to inflict on paying guests. the ‘proper’ compost toilet is still not built. the builder keeps promising to come to finish it ‘next week’. the solar shower is cold - or if you’re lucky, luke warm - at this time of year. the campers want to use our tents. they’ve been stored for months since their last use and are probaby full of spiders. it’s raining. the bedding i’ve washed for the campers to use is on the line getting wetter than when i hung it out. the approach to the house looks like a building-site-come-rubbish-dump. perhaps i’m just feeling overwhelmed because andy’s been away for a week and i’m exhausted. perhaps it would all seem better if the sun was shining. i have to go out in a minute to show a property to clients and all i really want to do is get back into bed, curl up, and hope that everything will be magically better when i awake …

Hey Sophie,
Sorry to see you down - hope it all panned out today with the campers. Maybe the Sun did shine and everything came out in the wash (so to speak). I’m sure the campers will be happy! Look forward to meeting you when Jayne and I come over the week after next - although I’ll naturally expect the place to be spick and span by then

Hi,
I will update my links to you at http://gotoportugal.blogspot.com and at http://leaveamerica.info
Please stop by sometime and leave a comment or two. I have some questions about Portugal–presented in brief questionnaire format–that I hope you’ll contribute to when you have time & inclination.
I hope that you get multiple offers which will give you the opportunity to select the strongest buyer, (the one that will actually close the transaction)! I hope we can keep in touch with each other. All the best, Nia.
P.S. If you like any of my sites I hope you will link one to yours.

I’ll have to come back more often. I hope that you’re feeling better and that the campers arrived safe and sound and are are having a wonderful time being part of the life of the quinta. The published comments of previous guests/volunteers are most encouraging. Take care, Sophie. All the best, Nia.

yes, campers are fine. and they brought their own bedding - so no worries there! my panic at getting the place ready for campers has now been replaced by a panic at getting the place ready for potential buyers to view it!
