I love this time of year when we start planning what we’ll be growing. Been spending some happy hours browsing seed catalogues (check out hsl and real seeds) trying to be sensible, limit myself, and not get too carried away.
This year we have decided to really try to step up the attempt at self-sufficiency. We’ve never been very good at seeing ourselves through the winter and this year we want to preserve a lot more of what we grow. To that end I’ve ordered a lot of beans that can be eaten fresh or dried. So … beans, potatoes and winter greens is likely to be our staple diet next winter!
Andy’s going to be furthering his passion for tomatoes, growing many heirloom varieties.
