The Power of Horse Manure!
Jun 12th 2008andyself-sufficiency & food
Some weeks ago I planted three pumpkin seedlings in our pile of old horse manure. Two of the plants were cut down by a particularly cold morning at the beginning of May (very unusual). But one has simply gone mad with growth and now has a few baby pumpkins appearing.
As is normal, in the heat, the leaves have wilted. They will perk back up later when it cools down. I shouldnt need to water it either, as the manure retains a lot of moisture. I’m looking forward to some huge pumpkins from this baby!:
