Well, all our websites got hacked. And we were very much less than impressed with the way our hosts handled the situation. So we’ve moved to a new hosting company whose servers are fully powered by the sun and the wind!
Unfortunately in the process I managed to lose the backup of the old blog (totally my own fault, should not have attempted moving servers when I was tired and had a headache – doh!), and have lost all our archives. This is a bit of a blow as it was 5yrs of our history from the very beginnings of Quinta das Abelhas. But, thinking positive, this is a great time to be starting over – not only is Spring in full swing and it’s a general time of rebirth, but our renovation is almost complete so it’s a bit of a new beginning for us too.
Bear with us while we get this new blog up and running, it might take a little while.
That’s devastating! I’m so sorry. If only I’d thought to save it all as well – it was the material for the book!
yeah i’m sooooo stupid. my fugged-up brain decided on a long-winded way of backing it all up when all i actually had to do was click one button in wordpress admin. i’ve just done it that way for the ecoliving site and it was so easy.
well, there’s nothing to be done now so pointless dwelling on it or kicking myself. just try to be positive and concentrate on new beginnings etc!
Welcome back…..am so impressed that you even know about how to back stuff up, even if you didn’t do it…I have no idea about any of it, if your a technopeasant god knows what I am, a total ludite? I can’t even put a site meter thing on my blog……

I cannot believe this,…oh, oh wait, is this just some way to cover your electric trail for some shady something or other you accidentally chronicled? Im just kidding, dont beat yourself up over it, its like a nice fresh start.
Oh and i learned today that you guys are organizing meetings for a transition town, very interesting, maybe thats why you got hacked.
No sorry i’ve just been reading up on the implications of a “one world super currency” and am all illuminati and “one ring to rule them all”-ed out.

I see Google has spidered this site now — otherwise I was going to suggest you might be able to get some of it back from the cache before it disappeared.
What a bummer. I’m sure there’ll be a silver lining to it all somewhere along the line though. Kind of puts a whole new slant on spring-cleaning …
