Luckily it's just a matter of putting the tiles back on. For now we've removed the most precarious ones and secured the rest, just incase it's not the end of the storms! Yurts are all fine, apart from the crown cover blew off the most exposed one - yet another testament of what remarkable structures they are!

Oh my gosh.... can't believe the views from up towards the village, at least you had some protection.. phew for the solar panels remaining where they were -that would have been expensive and awful. and so glad you didn't loose any windows, bloomin henry, that was quite some storm. Glad you were cosy with walls around you rather than in the yurt ?
Poor Daan and Maurice... bless em. x

Will the builders be along 'next week' to repair ??? !!!

Stay safe my lovvies. Beth. xxx

Damn, and there is nothing to be done about it either, i mean with the roof tiles there is no way to strap them down so you just got to hope the next storm comes from a different angle and doesnt catch them.

Glad it was just a few tiles and not the panels that got tossed around!

We will be down end of this month, and hopefully as Sarah said the mountain gave us some cover, the rain alone has probably havoc-ed our dirt road.

horses were none too happy! we let them have the run of the two fields so they could find themselves the most sheltered spot and they just stood themselves bums-to-wind, heads down, until it all calmed down a bit. chicken shed roof came off and their window blew away. and we're still missing some shoes that are always left outside! the wind was coming straight at us so we bore the brunt of the storm, people down on the other side of the ridge hardly noticed anything was going on.

blimey, for once am grateful that we have the protection of the mountains. We really didn't suffer that much, just no electricity for 48 hours. Glad not too much damage, how were the horses?
